Songbook Overload

This is where I become unpopular.

People have been creating bigger and bigger songbooks (which isn’t an enormous issue). However they are also asking for more and more songs to be based on re-created PDFs (latest one was over 190 new PDFs to be created and due to the load on the system this took over 14 minutes. By then the connection was already broken back to the browser – so the work was simply wasted).

So….. I intend to restrict the number of songs that can have the PDF recreated to 50 in the very near future – my hosting account is really struggling otherwise and also timeouts are happening too frequently. I will look at that load and see if it can be retained or if there will need to be further restrictions.

The idea of the songbooks was to create songbooks for weekly jams or a performance or to separate out genres of music etc and not to create a full club songbook of all the club’s songs. (and of course as soon as one song is updated then a full songbook needs to be re-created – not real efficient)

I hope this doesn’t cause too much aggravation and that you can adapt to the new limit (and that limit will also be up for review over time)
